Centering Prayer

“God speaks in our silence...that silence which is wonder and praise. We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness.”   ~Saint Mother Theresa

Centering Prayer is a method designed to facilitate the development of contemplative prayer, which is the opening of mind and heart- one’s whole being- to God, the Ultimate Mystery. In this time of prayer we sit in silence, with the intention of just “being present” to God within us. The Holy Apostles Centering Prayer group meets on Tuesday mornings at 10:45am in room 100.

Meetings last about an hour and include scripture reading, reflection, sharing and 20 minutes of centering prayer.
